Our Substitute Spotlight teacher In South Carolina for the month of July is Alexias Singleton! She was one of the first substitute teachers in South Carolina to accept consistent Long-Term assignments and has a steady work schedule since then. She even works after school in events such as the Reading Fair. To see why the Sub Teacher Source team thinks she is so great, you can keep reading to learn more about her...

1. What made you want to be a substitute teacher?

I wanted to become a substitute teacher because I enjoy teaching and I wanted to be able to give back to my community by impacting the lives of our youth and show support to my local teachers.

2. What is your favorite thing about being a substitute teacher?

My favorite thing about being a substitute teacher is the flexibility. I also love that I get to share my love for learning with multiple students.

3. When you are not substitute teaching, what do you like to do in your spare time?

When I'm not substitute teaching, I enjoy traveling, spending time with my family, and volunteering in my community.

4. Why do you feel that is it so important to have good substitute teachers?

I feel that it is so important to have good substitute teachers because our kids need them. Substitute teachers offer great support for the teachers and we help them carry on their lessons in the event of their absence.
